We had a nice Florida thunderstorm last night! Because Scuttle paces back and forth in the bedroom, we have been putting her in our long bathroom at night with the shower room door closed and a baby gate up at the entrance so she will feel more secure. Otherwise she will pace in the bedroom and not settle. Well last night I thought I would leave her out to see how she would do. She settled in and actually laid down right by the bed....until....BOOOOOOM!!!! She darted up and would not settle after that! In all fairness, it was a pretty loud boom. So I ended up putting her back in the bathroom. Throughout the night we continued to have some pretty loud thunder and she was startled each time. She seemed to recover pretty well and went back to sleep. Let's hope she can get over that fear!
She has been acting very jumpy today...probably because of the storm. Everything is bothering her and the few milestones we had seem to be gone :( She is very, very nervous. We couldn't even get her in the house. Every time we would try to grab her collar she would run. Eventually my daughter just sat on the patio and she came over to her and brought her in. Let's see how tomorrow goes! Hoping this isn't lasting!
